Senior Software Engineering Manager – Analytics Platforms

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop a team or teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers
• Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release
• Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies
• Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning
• Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks
• Determine appropriate strategy and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to meet moderate to high risk deliverables
• Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction
• Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity
• Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction
• Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
• Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology engineering
• Hire, build and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience
• 3+ years of management or leadership experience
• Experience administering and supporting analytics and BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or comparable enterprise platforms
• Strong platform engineering background with experience managing backend platform services, administration, configuration, and governance
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies
• Demonstrated success driving transformation initiatives, including automation, Dev Ops, SRE adoption, and modernization of production environments
• Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, and observability platforms such as Splunk or similar technologies
• Knowledge of vulnerability management, risk management, security controls, and platform governance practices
• Experience supporting highly available and resilient production environments, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning
• Demonstrated success leading platform modernization, enterprise tool rationalization, or technology transformation initiatives
• Experience with BCP/DR, resiliency, and highly available architectures
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and presentation skills
• Background in financial services or similarly regulated industries

Demonstrates extensive experience in Software Engineering and leadership, with a strong focus on platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and driving technology transformation initiatives. Proven ability to manage teams, ensure adherence to architectural standards, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders in regulated industries.
