Job Title: Multi-Disciplined Technician I
Location: Concord, NC (100% Onsite)
Travel: Up to 25% domestic travel (primarily to Wilmington, NC)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM (40 hours/week, with overtime as needed)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Multi-Disciplined Technician I to support technical operations, experimentation, and data collection in a dynamic manufacturing and development environment. This role involves working alongside engineers and operations teams to improve yields, support new product development, and execute process innovation initiatives. The technician will use various analytical tools and measurement devices to support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product/process innovation and cost reduction projects.
- Assist engineers in the development and execution of experiments for process and product integration.
- Operate measurement devices and collect/analyze manufacturing process data.
- Contribute to increasing manufacturing yields and reducing defects/downtime.
- Train and mentor development, engineering, and operations staff on equipment and process use.
- Interpret process and equipment data to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Support documentation efforts related to processes, products, or equipment.
- Contribute input to project plans, including resource and timeline estimation.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical or science-related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in a technician role.
- Strong mechanical/process aptitude and ability to design/fabricate experimental tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of fiber-making and processing equipment (e.g., FTIR benches, microscopes, coating and ink systems, optical fiber benches).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with PI Process Book/PI Historian.
- Experience with optical fiber measurement and manufacturing.
- Exposure to analytical techniques such as:
- FTIR
- Microscopy (compound and SEM)
- HPLC
- Gas Chromatography
- Associate
