What You'll Do:This position reports directly to the Supervisor, MHC Port. The Solids/Liquids Operator is located in Aurora, North Carolina, U.S.A. and is not available for remote work.
- Operating equipment in the loading/unloading of barges, vessels, rail cars, trucks and conducting periodic inspections, maintaining and operating equipment systems in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Helping with mechanical and/or electrical repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Being responsible for work outcomes of the assigned area, such as conducting daily inspections, coordinating repairs, product movement and reaching planned daily goals.
- Participating in the Nutrien permitting process by properly completing all necessary permits, such as Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, Confined Space and Safe Work.
- Operating the loading/unloading equipment at the facility:
- Bucket wheel
- Drag reclaimer
- Ship loader
- High school education, or GED equivalent; post‑secondary courses or training is preferred.
- The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) testing is required for all hourly applicants of Nutrien. Applicants must complete this test and meet a minimum of 4 in Graphic Literacy, 5 on Applied Mathematics and 5 on Workplace Documents to be considered eligible for employment with Nutrien.
- Ability to wear necessary, company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) — uniforms, steel‑toed boots, safety glasses, emergency breathing apparatus.
- Understand and follow procedures that have an impact on human safety such as lock‑out/tag‑out permitting, confined space, and scheduled maintenance repairs. Follow Standard Operation Procedures, Safety, and Environmental Procedures, Work Rules, instructions, and daily work activities.
- Ability to use the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) and upload it with your resume during your application to be considered eligible for employment with Nutrien.
Nutrien offers a skills‑based pay compensation program. Hourly rates can progress based on on‑job training, formal learning, and observation of new skills. Hourly rates can progress from a starting rate of $27.48 up to $46.16 per hour over a specified time period.
