Schutz Container System is a Global Packaging /Manufacturing Company located in Lexington, NC, is searching for an experienced Plant Manager
.

The Plant Manager will be responsible for plant production and profitability goals.

Primary Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.

The Plant Manager maintains a clean and safe plant, promotes and ensures a safe work environment and a safety conscious workforce, and continuously monitors the plant for safety, environmental, and housekeeping concerns, ensuring corrective actions are taken to protect the welfare and health of employees and meet all legislative requirements. Corrective actions are taken in a timely and cost‑effective manner. Exceeds all government regulations relating to Safety and the Environment.

The Plant Manager directs plant policies and procedures as defined by Corporate Office.

Ensures, through department supervisors, that productivity, efficiency, and quality of all operations are monitored and corrective action is taken when standards are not met. Sets metrics and meets budgeted targets. Monitors daily production and scrap data, taking corrective actions to optimize operation and minimize cost.

Assists departmental managers/supervisors in developing technical and operating capabilities of their personnel through a suitably planned training program and monitors their progress and performance. Monitors staff and addresses any discipline situations. Maintains all personnel records with regard to capability and performance. Reviews adjustments in job classification and wage rates with departmental supervisors and approves recommended changes. Conducts employee performance reviews.

Ensures full implementation of all relevant procedures and instructions.

Through department supervisors, ensures suitable scheduling of personnel and operations to meet customers’ requirements at the least cost. Monitors and coordinates preventative maintenance functions and requirements. Assists the maintenance supervisor in assigning priorities.

Implements practical operating improvements to reduce costs through increased productivity and improved yields.

Is responsible for plant production goals and for establishing all shift production schedules.

Ensures successful completion of assigned projects.

Establishes and maintains a positive community relationship.

Fosters a well‑trained and motivated staff.

Provides support through leadership of each department so they attain their goals and objectives.

Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of production, logistics, and shipping.

Monitors all inventories to ensure they are maintained at the proper levels and follow corporate inventory procedures.

Schedules and conducts plant meetings.

Is responsible for the product quality control for the plant.

Attends scheduled corporate meetings and events. Completes and submits required reports in a timely manner.

Other duties as assigned.
