Job Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce high-quality parts that meet customer and company specifications. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment according to production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Load raw materials and tooling into machines and verify proper machine setup.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality specifications.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Make machine offsets and adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
  • Change tooling and perform routine machine maintenance as required.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Troubleshoot machine and production issues and communicate concerns to supervisors.
  • Follow established production schedules and meet output goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
  • Assist in other manufacturing or production areas as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous CNC machining experience required.
  • Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and quality inspection procedures.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC controls preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and movement of materials.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for machine operation and inspection tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to machine noise, metal chips, coolants, and other manufacturing conditions while following proper safety procedures.
