Job Overview
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce high-quality parts that meet customer and company specifications. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment according to production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Load raw materials and tooling into machines and verify proper machine setup.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality specifications.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Make machine offsets and adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Change tooling and perform routine machine maintenance as required.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Troubleshoot machine and production issues and communicate concerns to supervisors.
- Follow established production schedules and meet output goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
- Assist in other manufacturing or production areas as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous CNC machining experience required.
- Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and quality inspection procedures.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC controls preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Standing for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and movement of materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for machine operation and inspection tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to machine noise, metal chips, coolants, and other manufacturing conditions while following proper safety procedures.
