Forklift Operator - Concord, NC

Weyerhaeuser currently has an opportunity available for a Forklift Operator at our Concord location. We are conveniently located near Harrisburg, just behind the motor speedway.

Our focus each day is on safely delivering high-quality wood products to our customers. We receive a variety of wood products from our mills, cut them to specification, and then move the finished materials to our customers in a safe and efficient manner. We take great pride in servicing our customers in a safe and team-based environment. The primary activities in our operations department include unloading railcars/trucks of building materials, cycle counting, storing materials, breaking full units down into custom orders, and loading outbound trucks.

These are NOT temp positions, these are direct hire positions with benefits, for anyone wanting a career.

We want talented people with at least a high school diploma, that have a drive to perform and a commitment to safety. From there, we will safely train them to pick and pull orders and operate a forklift to efficiently load and move products for our customers.

The hourly pay range is $18.50 - $22.58 per hour, which does not include overtime, which is additional. The shift would start at 4:30 PM and will end at 1:00 AM. There is room for some overtime, and you can also drive your base pay rate higher, as you master more and more skills.

• Working with driving a forklift to help load multiple stops on a flatbed carrying material 8' up to 48' in length.

• Running a forklift daily, manually pulling orders, operating a chainsaw, and loading trucks daily
• Be coachable and willing to seek input from management and team
• Be committed to customer service and safety
• Be committed to wearing the required personal protective equipment without being prompted
• Be committed to safely operating and maintaining all Weyerhaeuser equipment to and move products to designated areas outbound trailers
• Be committed to take personal safety and the safety of others very seriously

• Be committed to accurately counting, measuring, and documenting daily inventory for shipping and receiving
• Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work within a team to solve customer problems and complete general tasks
• Willing to work outside, regularly moving, in the elements five days a week and occasional weekends
• Ability to continuously work while standing, sitting, and driving equipment throughout the day.
• Ability to work, while lifting towards 50lbs
• Ability to work while moving and sliding up to 100lbs
• Ability to operate a chainsaw
• Basic computer skills

• Experience operating a forklift or heavy equipment operation where long length material has been handled
• High school diploma or GED required
• A proven track record of successful performance at school and work
