Position within the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, responsible for inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization, and medical detoxification for individuals with substance use and co‑occurring psychiatric diagnoses.

• Provide direct patient care: monitor physical status, vital signs, and nurse triage assessments; administer medication and collaborate with the Treatment Team.
• Develop nursing care plans based on diagnosis and identified patient problems and independently carry out the nursing process.
• Perform inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization, and medical detoxification for patients with substance use and other co‑occurring psychiatric diagnoses.
• Collect data on patient outcomes and support a culture of continuous quality improvement.

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
• Ability to independently plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Knowledge of medications and the physiological effect of medications.
• Ability to communicate information concisely and descriptively through verbal, written, or demonstration.
• Ability to appropriately respond to emergency situations.

• Evenings/Night (6:45 pm – 7:15 am):
  Monday – Friday 20%;
  Saturday & Sunday 30%.

Eligible for a $10,000 sign‑on bonus (contingent on 2025‑2026 budget approval). Eligibility requires a full‑time permanent position working 30‑40 hours per week; prorated bonus for less than 40 hours.

$58,898 – $88,348, based on qualifications, internal equity, and budget considerations.
