Are you a dedicated RN ready to elevate your career in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art teaching hospital? We’re seeking a passionate Travel/Contract Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a renowned facility with a trauma level III designation, Stroke and Chest Pain Centers of Excellence, and a Bariatric Center of Excellence. This is your opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including HPB and women’s surgery patients, in a supportive environment that values teamwork and clinical excellence.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 18 months of PCU experience and previous travel experience preferred
- Current RN license with BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency in drain care, central line management, G/J tube management, Heparin and cardiac GTT management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, and surgical drain management
- Ability to perform blood draws, Foley insertion/removal, and other standard patient care procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to assist with patient care, med passes, and admissions as a charge nurse or support role
Nice to Have
Skills:
- Experience with Epic EMR and hospital-specific equipment
- Familiarity with float assignments within the region
- Additional certifications such as PALS or TNCC
Preferred
Education and Experience:
- At least 1 year of recent RN experience in a PCU setting
- Prior travel experience in a similar acute care environment
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) on a rotating weekend schedule
- Willingness to work 75% of holidays and up to 6 days of RTO must be approved
- Must have a permanent address at least 50 miles outside the facility location
- Valid driver’s license and the last 4 digits of Social Security number for verification purposes
