The Orange County Health Department has an immediate opening for a full-time benefited clinic staff nurse.
The work involves the responsibility for providing basic public health nursing care in homes, clinics, or other community service settings. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Public Health Nursing Supervisor I with some leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work, and in making decisions regarding needs and requests.
Leading others may be a responsibility of this class depending on the assignment. Does related work as required.

NOTE:
The hiring range is on the posting NOT on the job specification.
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or registered college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or a School of Professional Nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- All individuals hired are required to complete the Introduction to the Public Health Nursing course.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- All offers of employment are conditioned upon successful clearance of a background check and pre‑employment drug testing. Employment cannot commence until the employee has been cleared.
- Candidates may be required to undergo fingerprinting and a criminal history background check based on the job responsibilities. Employment is contingent upon successful clearance through these checks, which are mandated for certain roles depending on the nature of the job and applicable laws.
