Registered Nurse - NICU - Concord, NC

Experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurses are invited to help provide expert care for newborns in a dynamic, high-acuity hospital environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team, delivering critical care in the NICU and supporting related pediatric units as needed.

Schedule and

Hours:

• 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation: 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays, plus every other Saturday and Sunday in each 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required based on hospital scheduling
• No on-call or call-back requirements for travelers

Key

Qualifications:

• Current, active RN license with experience in NICU nursing
• Proficient in the care of neonatal patients requiring advanced life support and monitoring
• Comfortable with a floating assignment to Neonatal PCU, Pediatric CVICU, PICU, and general Peds units as a supplemental resource
• Strong communication skills and able to collaborate effectively with neonatal and pediatric teams
• Ability to adapt quickly and provide compassionate, evidence-based care in rapidly changing situations

Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert, family-centered nursing care to critically ill neonates in the NICU
• Utilize comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation skills to coordinate patient care
• Respond to emergencies and complex patient needs using advanced clinical judgment
• Document interventions, changes in condition, and communicate updates with the care team
• Assist in related pediatric units as needed, providing support and maintaining safe care standards
