Position: Registered Nurse - NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) - Concord, North Carolina
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in high-acuity Neonatal Intensive Care to join a dynamic and supportive pediatric health care environment on a 26-week assignment. The unit boasts 24 beds, typically with an average daily census of 21-23 patients, managed by an engaged, multidisciplinary team focused on providing top-tier pediatric critical care. This state-of-the-art facility features 247 licensed beds, is a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, and operates as both a teaching hospital and a designated stroke and chest pain center.

Schedule:
  • 26-week assignment; may consider up to 48 hours per week (to be confirmed in the interview process).
  • Scheduling works on a 6-week cycle; no on-call required for travelers.
  • Floating expected across Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, and general pediatric units as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Active RN license, BLS, and PALS certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' recent, high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR, Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device, Belmont Rapid Infuser, and management of vasoactive drips.
  • Comfortable with invasive line and ventilator management, CRRT, sedation/analgesic drip management, and advanced discharge skills.
  • Competency to float to related pediatric specialties preferred; ability to adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage care for critically ill neonates and pediatric patients with diagnoses including trauma, respiratory issues, endocrine crises, neurological conditions, organ failure, and transplants.
  • Safely titrate medications and manage invasive monitoring.
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, respiratory therapists, and other support services to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and respectful unit culture.
