Registered Nurse (NS)Description of Work
Registered Nurse position will perform specialized nursing and medical treatment and deliver care to developmentally and intellectually disabled individuals, many of whom are also medically fragile. The role carries out nursing care plans based on diagnoses and pertinent medical information and individual needs. The Registered Nurse will independently carry out the nursing care process, creating an environment that assists individuals in attaining the maximum level of functioning and recovery.
Responsibilities include administering medication, participating in interdisciplinary team processes, coordinating care, and working closely with medical doctors, psychologists, social workers, recreational therapists, dietitians, and other professionals to support individuals in achieving independence and the best quality of life possible.
$70,000 - $85,000
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to independently plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Knowledge of medications and the physiological effects of those medications.
- Ability to communicate information in a concise and descriptive manner, verbally, in writing, or by demonstration.
- Ability to appropriately respond to emergency situations.
- Day:
Saturday and Sunday 10% - Evening:
Monday–Friday 20%, Saturday, and Sunday 30% - Night:
Friday–Sunday 30%, Monday–Thursday 20%
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
