Nocturnist - 12 hour shifts. Rotating schedule 7 on / 7 off with 14 off every 3rd cycle.
Pay Range: $59.00 - $88.50
Job Summary- Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation in collaboration with a supervising physician.
- Maintains clinical and professional competency appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of patients served.
- Works independently with strong decision‑making and communication skills; collaborates with MDs, APPs, and ancillary staff for inpatient management and coordination of patient care.
- Weekends, holidays required. No call. Travel to other sites may rarely be required.
- No OR responsibilities, but exposure to OR setting possible.
- Procedures include bedside talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.
- 12 cardiac and thoracic surgeons across SHVI and 28 surgical APPs at three sites.
- Busy practice averaging 1,500 cases a year between cardiac and thoracic services.
- Structured with inpatient, outpatient and surgical teams using a closed CTICU.
- Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program and maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina.
- Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
- Physician Assistants: certification from NCCPA required.
- Nurse Practitioners:
Acute Care NP Certification required. - Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred.
