Position Title

Internal Medicine & Pediatrics – Nursing – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Full‑time

Monday – Friday, 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.

40 hours

$24.10 – $36.15 per hour

• Prepare and room patients for examination; obtain vital signs and document health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures (e.g., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection) using aseptic technique.
• Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
• Administer medications under physician orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin.
• Initiate, maintain, and discontinue IV therapy with selected fluids and pre‑mixed medications, within scope of practice.
• Provide basic patient education regarding tasks, skills, treatment, and self‑care.
• Follow up on procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointments, and referrals.
• Refer questions to registered nurses and physicians per practice guidelines; relay information back to patients.
• Communicate with physicians and health‑care team members.
• Document and communicate accurate, timely information on patient conditions.
• Perform advanced clinical tasks such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, throat/nose cultures, drug screens, phlebotomy (butterfly, venous access, heel stick), EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care.
• Organize and prepare exam rooms, labs, and work areas including cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning and transporting duties that require lifting, pushing, or pulling with proper technique.
• Perform routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment, cleaning, sterilizing, and caring for instruments.
• Participate in patient‑centered initiatives, care management, performance improvement, and quality activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills needed to provide age‑appropriate care and assess patient status for developmental needs.

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) – must be obtained within 45 days unless otherwise directed.

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.

• No prior experience required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop rapport and maintain professional relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient computer skills: keyboarding, navigating Windows OS, using electronic mail and electronic medical records.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders; lift up to 50lbs from floor to waist, 20lbs over the head, 40lbs a reasonable distance; push/pull with 30lbs of force; perform a sliding transfer of 150lbs with a second person present.
• Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical hazards, blood and body fluids; must wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch; ability to use fine‑hand manipulation skills.
• Operate all equipment essential to the job.

• Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20lbs over the head, carry up to 40lbs over a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 30lbs of force, perform a sliding transfer of 150lbs with a second person present.
• Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical hazards, and blood and body fluids.
• Must wear protective clothing and equipment as needed and have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch.
• Operate all equipment essential to the job.
