Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Operating Room RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Concord, North Carolina. The assignment starts 08/10/2026.

Schedule:

12‑hour days, 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC), or ENPC certifications
  • OR Nursing Certification (CNOR)
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process, ensuring safety and comfort during surgical procedures. This role involves preparing the OR, managing surgical equipment, and collaborating with the surgical team for high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Essential Work Functions
  • Prepares the operating room, ensuring required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional.
  • Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Maintains a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adheres to infection control protocols.
  • Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly.
  • Monitors the patient's condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon.
  • Handles surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal per facility protocols.
  • Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport per facility protocols, ensuring accurate diagnostic results.
  • Documents all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly.
  • Participates in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases.
  • Assists in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols.
  • Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Follows hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
  • Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment up to 50–100lbs, push, pull, bend.
  • Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Technical/motor skills: grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move during procedures and using department equipment.
  • Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with general public/customers, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally and without assistance from others, contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally, maintain continuous concentration on detail.
  • Sensory: possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively.
