Shift: PRN - As needed.
- Educates patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans, ensuring understanding and compliance based on assessed learning needs. Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies, ensuring legal and ethical practice.
- Ensure the appropriate use and stewardship of medical supplies and equipment to support patient safety and operational efficiency.
- Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, maintaining professional relationships and promoting a positive environment.
- Assists physicians in providing care to patients with oncology and hematology conditions.
- Maintains accurate nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, vital signs, responses, and assessment of changes.
- Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
- Communicates effectively with front office staff to coordinate patient care. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with minimal supervision.
- Participates in educational programs, current literature, in‑service meetings, and workshops. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Prioritizes care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
- Clinical nursing expertise in oncology care [Required]
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal [Required]
- Computer proficiency [Required]
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
- Additional languages [Preferred]
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
- Nursing
- 1+ experience in acute care nursing [Required]
- Oncology experience [Preferred]
- N/A
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) [Preferred]
