American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN
- Operating Room for a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring 5+ years of OR experience and a NC or compact RN license.
- Level 3 Trauma Center with 457 licensed beds, also recognized as a Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center
- Operating Room department with 19 OR suites, 17 of which are staffed
- Averages 50 surgical cases per day
- Surgical specialties include trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics, general, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, and plastics
- Uses Epic EMR
- 12-hour day shifts, , 36 hours per week
- Shift times may vary and include 7a-7p, 9a-9p, or 11a-11p depending on need
- Weekend rotation required every 4th weekend, either as a scheduled shift or call coverage
- Call required averaging 6 shifts per 6-week schedule with a 45-minute response time
- No floating required
- Schedule follows a 6-week cycle
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- CNOR certification preferred but not required
- Minimum 5 years of OR RN experience required
- Experience circulating in a wide range of surgical specialties including trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics, general, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, and plastics
- Charge RN experience and scrubbing proficiency required for night shift contracts
- Experience with laparoscopic, open belly, ortho trauma, cysto, vascular, and robotic cases is a plus for night shift
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Must be flexible, self-driven, and a motivated team player to accommodate case requests
- Circulate and support a variety of complex surgical cases across multiple specialties
- Work alongside Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Educators, ORAs, Unit Secretaries, and Tech Engineers
- Orientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
- Time off requests subject to manager approval
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Free parking available
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates who previously worked a permanent position within the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before eligibility
