Provide direct nursing care and instruct/supervise the LPN and Hospice Aide staff in the delivery of nursing care to patients. The Float RN provides flexible clinical support throughout the organization based on operational need. This position is designed to provide coverage for staffing vacancies, leaves of absence, onboarding, high census, admissions, after hours, Elizabeth House, weekends, special projects, or other clinical priorities.

The Float RN serves as a highly adaptable clinical resource capable of supporting multiple service lines, departments, and geographic regions. Assignments may vary in duration, location, schedule, and responsibilities based on organizational need while maintaining the highest standards of patient-centered hospice care. The Float RN is expected to work where the organizational need is greatest and may be assigned to any clinical program, department, shift, or geographic service area.

• Practice within the scope of license, certification or registration, where applicable, and as required by law and regulation.
• Assess the patient's physical and mental health including the patient's reaction to illnesses and treatment regimens.
• Record and report the results of the nursing assessment.
• Plan, initiate, deliver, and evaluate appropriate nursing acts.
• Teach, assign, or supervise other personnel in implementing the treatment regimen.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers in determining the appropriate patient and family-centered plan of care.
• Implement the treatment and pharmaceutical regimen prescribed by any person authorized by State law to prescribe the regimen.
