American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and a NC or compact RN license.
Details- Emergency Department of a Trauma Level III, teaching hospital
- 457 licensed bed facility with Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of Excellence designations
- Treats a wide range of trauma and acute patients including GSW, stabbing, MVA, falls, stroke, heart failure, chest pain, COPD, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, respiratory illness, GI disorders, liver failure, and AKI/CKD
- RN to patient ratio of 1:5 max, acuity dependent
- 12-hour night shift schedule (7p-7a) at 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- No on-call or call-back requirements
- Floating required within Region 1 facilities including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH) as needed within scope of practice
- EPIC EMR system used
- Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors utilized
- Support staff includes CNAs, receptionist/HUC, 24/7 charge nurse, IV/VAT team, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist, and ED physicians
- Active RN license (NC or compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
- TNCC certification preferred
- Skills required include trauma and stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, and blood administration
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Provide emergency care to a high-acuity trauma patient population in a Level III trauma center
- Facility orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; unmet contracted hours must be added to the end of the contract
- Navy scrub color required
- Free parking available
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position; local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not preferred but will be considered
- Previous employees must be separated from any Advocate Health Southeast facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position before being eligible to return
