American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and multiple advanced certifications.

• Work in a Level III Trauma Emergency Department at a teaching hospital that is also a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center of Excellence
• 457-licensed-bed facility
• Treats trauma patients including GSW, stabbing, MVA, and falls, along with stroke, heart failure, chest pain, COPD, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, respiratory illness, GI disorders, liver failure, and AKI/CKD
• RN to patient ratio of 1:5 max, acuity dependent
• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump:
  Alaris
• Medication dispensing via Omnicell
• Monitors:
  Phillips
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Floating required within Region 1, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within the region, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH)
• Supported by CNAs, receptionist/HUC, 24/7 charge nurse, IV/VAT team, 24/7 RT, 24/7 hospitalist, and ED physicians

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Skills required include trauma care, stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, and blood administration
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma and acute medical conditions
• Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any shortfall added to the end of the contract
• Navy scrub color required
• Free parking available
• Not a preferred candidate for first-time travelers, but will be considered
• Local candidates not accepted due to 50-mile radius rule from the home unit
• Candidates must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year if previously in a permanent position there
