Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - OR with 5+ years of experience and NC or compact RN license for a busy Level 3 Trauma center surgical department.

Details
  • Work in a 19-suite Operating Room (17 rooms blocked) within a Level 3 Trauma, Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center facility
  • Average of 50 surgical cases per day
  • Surgical specialties include Trauma, Ortho Trauma, Ortho Total Joints, Spine, Hearts, MI Vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, Robotics, General, HPB, Bariatrics, Urology, ENT, Eyes, Pain, and Plastics
  • Unit designations include Bariatric Center of Excellence and Advanced Spine Surgery Certification
  • Uses EPIC EMR
  • 12-hour day shifts scheduled 11a-11p, with additional shift options of 7a-7p and 9a-9p depending on need
  • 36 standard hours per week on a 6-week schedule cycle
  • Weekend rotation required every 4th weekend, in the form of either a scheduled shift or call coverage
  • Call requirement averages 6 shifts per 6-week schedule with a 45-minute response time
  • No floating required
Requirements
  • Active NC or compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • CNOR certification preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5 years of OR nursing experience required
  • Minimum 12 months of core OR specialty experience within the last year required
  • Experience circulating cases across multiple surgical specialties including Trauma, Ortho, Spine, Hearts, GYN, Robotics, General, HPB, Bariatrics, Urology, ENT, Eyes, Pain, and Plastics
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
  • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
  • Support team includes Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Educators, ORAs, Unit Secretaries, and Tech Engineers
  • Orientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
  • Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
  • RTO subject to manager approval
  • Scrubs provided and free parking available
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel assignment
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
