Description:
RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in cancellation.
The unit will not accept first-time travelers.
Candidates must have at least 2 successful contracts before applying.
Local candidates are accepted.
IV start and telemetry skills are required, along with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
Experience with medical-surgical neuro patients is necessary.
The unit cares primarily for stroke patients, as well as other neuro diagnoses like epilepsy and subdural hematomas.
Nurses will be required to float to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry areas, which may include COVID care units.
Floating is mandatory and may occur frequently.
If RTO includes weekends, the time will be added to the end of the contract to compensate for those dates.
Travelers are required to work every other weekend.
If a traveler calls in for a scheduled weekend shift, they will need to make up the weekend shifts based on unit needs.
The unit has a four-bed epilepsy monitoring unit and trains nurses for this specialty.
Daily census runs around 42.The unit uses PYXIS and EPIC systems.
Patient ratios are 1:6.Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting.
Block scheduling cannot always be guaranteed.
Qualified candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as described in the job responsibilities.
Pre-approved time off is limited.
Travel pairs are allowed, provided they are on different units.
References may be pending at the time of submission.
Modules must be completed pre-start and annually as required.
