Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Required Skills/

Experience:

General Med/Tele skillset: cardiac rhythm interpretation; experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone); care of patients with tubes/drains; IV start skills; blood products; wound care/dressing changes.

Special Requests: RTO:
Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays; must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Unit Details:
Patient population includes chronic diseases, CHF specialty area, mental health, addiction services for patients requiring 6 weeks of IV antibiotics, COPD, diabetes, wounds, and geriatric care. RN ratios: 1:4-6, acuity dependent; surge times could increase to 1:7-8. CNA ratio: 1:7. Department equipment includes scales, GBS machine, transfer device, vein finder, EKG, crash cart, language interpreter, telemedicine cart for online patient assessments, and doppler.

Shift & Scheduling:
Every other weekend. No call. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: 6-week schedules.

Floating Requirements:
Travel nurses will be first to float to other nursing units based on patient care needs and staffing demands. Will take patients within scope of practice on any unit, including Med Surg assignments in ICU and Med Surg holds in ED. Required to float per region needs to Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division facilities, including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH (pediatrics only), as needed and within scope of practice.

6 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
