- Delivery of patient care, including personal care (ADL) such as bathing, mobility, nutrition, elimination, safety, and special procedures (vital signs, wound care, infection control, etc.).
- Housekeeping services required for health and safety of patients, families, and caregivers.
- Participation in interdisciplinary team conferences (IDT) and special case conferences.
- Documentation in accordance with HPCCR guidelines and licensure standards.
- Provide sterile dressing for wounds over 48 hours old; wound irrigation.
- Perform ostomy care or irrigation.
- Limited insertion of urinary catheter as replacement after nursing assessment.
- Administer oxygen therapy, including room set‑up and flow‑rate monitoring.
- Break up and remove fecal impaction.
- Assisted IV fluid activities: assemble/flush tubing, monitor flow, site care.
- Nutrition support: oral/nasogastric infusions, clamping, removal of tubes.
- Suctioning: oropharyngeal, nasopharyngeal.
- Provide tracheostomy care.
- Limited insertion of urinary catheter (replacement) per nursing assessment.
- Sterile dressing and wound irrigation.
- Ostomy care or irrigation.
- Oxygen therapy set‑up and monitoring.
- Attend and participate in IDT and special care conferences.
- Maintain effective working relationships with team members.
- Identify patient/caregiver needs and refer to appropriate specialists.
- Demonstrate competency and maintain professional reputation.
- Engage in continuous professional development and stay up‑to‑date with healthcare trends.
- Maintain licensure, CPR, and CEU requirements.
- Cultivate professional relationships with external agencies.
- Apply effective time‑management and crisis response skills.
- Clean patient rooms according to facility procedures, ensuring proper chemicals and protective equipment are used.
- Keep family rooms clean throughout the day.
- High School diploma preferred; training or certification in related field required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current listing status.
- Good standing with the NC Department of Health and Human Services.
- Minimum 1 year of experience.
- Experience in home care, working with terminally ill patients, and/or geriatrics preferred.
