Surgical specialties include trauma, orthopedic trauma, orthopedic total joints, spine, cardiac, myocardial infarction vascular, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, robotics (three systems available), general surgery, hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB), bariatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, and plastics.

• BLS certification required
• North Carolina RN license required
• CNOR preferred but not mandatory

• Experience circulating in cases involving trauma, orthopedic trauma, orthopedic total joints, spine, cardiac, myocardial infarction vascular, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, robotics, general surgery, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, and plastics
• For night shift OR RNs: charge nurse experience and scrubbing proficiency are required

Preferred skills include laparoscopic and open abdominal procedures, orthopedic trauma, cystoscopy, vascular, and robotics. Flexibility, self-motivation, and teamwork are essential to accommodate case requests during night shifts.

• New Employee Orientation (NEO)
• Two days of departmental orientation

• Weekend rotation every 4th weekend
• Weekend coverage may be scheduled shifts (typically 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) or call shifts (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
• Call requirement averages 6 shifts per 6-week schedule
• 45-minute response time expected during call
• Holiday work expectation: travelers will work 75% of holidays
• Return to Office (RTO) requires manager approval
• Schedule cycles every 6 weeks
