Description Of WorkThe Border Belt Tobacco Research Station is hiring an entry-level Agricultural Technician with growth potential for a fulfilling career in agriculture. Our mission is to serve as a platform for agricultural research to make farming more efficient, productive, and profitable, while maintaining a sound environment and providing consumers with safe and affordable products.
Our ideal candidate has farming experience with a variety of crops such as tobacco, corn, peanuts, and soybeans. If you are passionate about working in agriculture this is a great opportunity to join our Research Stations team!
Key Responsibilities Include- Assist with the plot layouts, planting and harvesting of crops.
- Operation and basic maintenance of farm equipment.
$31,200-$40,000
Knowledge,Skills And Abilities
/ Management Preferences
- Understanding of general agricultural crop production
- Ability to operate farm equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs routinely and perform all work in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to follow safety procedures
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift Driver Certificate
- Public Pesticide Applicator License
