Job Description

Our veterinary hospital in Davie, Florida is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician (Vet Tech) to join our growing team. We welcome both Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT/CVT/RVT) and experienced non-credentialed technicians who demonstrate strong clinical skills, professionalism, and a true passion for animal care.

We proudly serve dogs and cats throughout Davie, Weston, Plantation, Fort Lauderdale, and surrounding Broward County communities. Our hospital is committed to high standards of veterinary medicine, preventative care, client education, and compassionate patient handling.

Veterinary Technician Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Technician in our Davie veterinary hospital, you will play a critical role in patient care, surgical support, diagnostics, and client education.

Patient Care & Clinical Skills
  • Assist veterinarians during physical exams and medical procedures
  • Safely restrain dogs and cats using low-stress handling techniques
  • Collect diagnostic samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology)
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia
  • Monitor heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen levels
  • Place IV catheters and administer medications as directed
  • Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs
  • Take digital radiographs (X-rays) safely and accurately
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain detailed medical record
  • Bonus if experienced with IDEXX Cornerstone veterinary software and lab equipment
Client Education & Communication
  • Educate pet owners on medications, preventative care, nutrition, and post-procedure instructions
  • Support proactive discussions about wellness, vaccines, parasite prevention, and lifestyle care
  • Communicate with clarity, compassion, and professionalism
Hospital Standards & Safety
  • Follow OSHA and radiation safety protocols
  • Maintain sterile technique and surgical standards
  • Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are clean and organized
  • Uphold compassionate handling and patient advocacy standards
Requirements Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, or RVT) in Florida
  • Fear Free Certified Veterinary Technician (preferred but not required)
Also Considered

Experienced non-credentialed Veterinary Technician with 3+ years of hands‑on experience in a small animal hospital.
