Position Summary

The Department of Cell Biology and Physiology is seeking to fill a Research Associate and Senior Laboratory Manager position. This position will oversee and manage the day-to-day laboratory operations for the McCauley lab, a dynamic and growing team of scientists in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology. This position will also be responsible for onboarding and training new lab members.

This position will independently oversee the day-to-day lab operations, including ordering supplies, interfacing with vendors, ensuring the laboratory is fully stocked with needed supplies, performing equipment care and maintenance, overseeing the training and onboarding of all lab personnel, and managing compliance with Lab Safety and Environmental Health and Safety protocols. This position will also serve as the Lab Animal Coordinator and will oversee mouse colony management and write IACUC protocols.

This position will independently plan and conduct molecular biology experiments, including but not limited to gene expression and protein analysis by sequencing, Western blotting, ELISA, and high-resolution confocal imaging. This position will also independently plan and conduct experiment using animal models, including but not limited to injections, oral gavage, behavioral phenotyping, imaging, necropsy and tissue collection.
