, we are seeking a Regional Sales Manager – East to drive profitable growth and expand the customer base across the Eastern United States. This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on sales leader with strong technical aptitude and experience in industrial automation or sensor technologies. Preferred location is based in the Southeast, relatively close to a major airport as 30–40% domestic travel will be required, including periodic visits to Baumer’s U.S. headquarters in Bristol, CT.

As the Regional Sales Manager East, you will have overall responsibility for developing and executing the regional sales strategy and driving profitable growth. The role includes leadership of the regional sales team, development of annual sales plans and quotas, management of selected key accounts, and ongoing optimization of sales territories. You will report to senior management in the U.S. The Eastern Region currently includes the following states (subject to change):
CT, MA, RI, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, GA, FL, SC, NC, VA, WV, DC, MD, DE, NJ, PA, NY, NH, ME, VT.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Regional Planning
- Analyze regional sales results; identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities.
- Find emerging markets and competitive activities and new technologies.
- Design and implement strategic business plans to expand the customer base.
- Define, optimize, and adjust sales territories.
- Recruit, develop, and onboard top sales talent across the region.
- Ensure consistent execution of Baumer’s “value selling process.”
- Ensure CRM discipline and data integrity (the company uses SAP).
- Support the team during customer visits, lead generation, and closing of key opportunities.
- Support sales development in open or uncovered territories.
- Maintain a deep understanding of key accounts and provide detailed updates.
- Lead and manage local channel partners.
- Assist Product Marketing with new product introductions and competitive intelligence.
- Support marketing in planning or attending trade shows.

The candidate will have a strong background in technical B2B sales, proven leadership of regional sales teams, and a record of delivering profitable growth in industrial automation, sensors, or related technologies. They will combine strong commercial thinking with technical understanding and own excellent communication, coaching, and strategic planning skills.

Education & Experience Requirements- Bachelor’s or master’s degree: engineering or technical degree preferred.
- 5+ years of outside technical sales experience (sensor technologies preferred).
- Experience managing a sales team.
- Strong experience with B2B, sales channels, and OEM selling.
- Knowledge of industrial markets and factory automation.
- Experience with CRM systems (preferably SAP).
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office and sales tools (Power BI, Linked In, Zoom Info).
- Willingness to travel 30-40% throughout the region.
