• Perform facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards, and document work through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Maintain, repair, and perform complex troubleshooting on mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, and controls with minimal assistance.
• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, and tables not serviced by other departments.
• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems including pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas systems, and specialized water systems with minimal assistance.
• Perform routine to complex general maintenance functions in grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
• Manage responses and repairs associated with emergencies such as leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages, and equipment failures.
• Respond to building occupant requests in a timely and professional manner, conduct zone maintenance rounding, and keep requesters updated on corrective actions and service requests.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks.
• Inspect and repair fire doors, hardware, firewalls, and smoke partitions.
• Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to acquire necessary knowledge for assignments.

• Certification and/or additional training in a skill, trade, equipment, or system applicable to the job and location.
• Driver's license required.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• 4 or more years of experience in equipment maintenance.

• Basic computer skills, including CMMS, building automation system, and Microsoft Office.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest level, and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards; knowledge of safety precautions is essential.
• Position requires travel and may involve exposure to road and weather hazards.
• Operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
