Wayne Automatic Fire Sprinklers Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Service Technician (Foreman) to lead the installation, troubleshooting, and supervision of fire sprinkler systems in the Concord, NC area.
Position Responsibilities- Lead and supervise the installation of fire sprinkler systems, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to required standards.
- Oversee the layout, assembly, and installation of pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, interpreting blueprints and installation instructions.
- Assist in completing service work orders, including fitting overhead pipe, carrying materials, ladders, and other items (up to 50 lbs.) up and down stairs.
- Perform maintenance and replacement work on system components such as valves, gauges, flow switches, and tamper switches.
- Proactively notify management of any issues, concerns, or changes on the job site.
- Address employee performance or behavior issues in collaboration with management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors to ensure project goals are met and expectations exceeded.
- Accurately complete and submit all necessary reports, including time sheets, accident reports, and production documentation, on time.
- Ensure compliance with all work and safety rules and enforce proper safety protocols on the job site.
- Maintain care, maintenance, and safekeeping of assigned tools and equipment, ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly work area and company vehicle.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the service superintendent/manager.
- Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required and perform extensive hours when necessary.
- Participate in a 24‑hour emergency service call rotation.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a fire sprinkler foreman or in a related role.
- Extensive knowledge and hands‑on experience in installing fire sprinkler systems, reading blueprints, and conducting system testing.
- Preferred: completion of Wayne Academy Apprenticeship Program, ABC Apprenticeship Program, NICET certification, OSHA 30‑hour course, lift certification.
- Proficient in using computer software, including company‑specific programs.
- Strong leadership abilities and previous experience supervising teams of fitters and apprentices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage professionally and collaboratively.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to wear required protective equipment and adhere to safety guidelines on job sites.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record (company vehicle will be provided).
- Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test, background check, and 10‑year employment verification is required.
