As a HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for complex commercial HVAC systems by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Assign tasks to team members. Ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
- Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
- Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
- Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
- Work within broad guidelines and policies.
- Explain difficult or sensitive information.
- Commercial / Industrial HVAC experience
- Ability to use CMMS system and email
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Prior shift manager or supervisory experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required
- Trade School / Apprenticeship Program (accepted in combination with experience in lieu of diploma)
- 4–5 years of job-related HVAC experience required. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Physical Requirements
- Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility / Office environment
- Will be reporting to Hard Services Supervisor; team consists of Maintenance Mechanics, HVAC Techs, Plumbers, and Electricians
- Typical daily duties include performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and installation of HVAC equipment
- Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
- Background check required: CBRE Safety Specific with drug screen
- 12-hour shifts
- Interview process: 1st round virtual; 2nd round in-person with a site tour
