Provide direct supervision & technical guidance to Linemen, Apprentices Equipment Operators, Crane Operators, and Groundmen performing maintenance & construction on all transmission projects.
Maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized power lines.
Lead and teach hot stick work on energized lines.
Conducts pre-job or tailgate briefings.
Possess a working knowledge of all aspects of line work.
Identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit.
Safely perform reconductoring jobs.
Safely install and remove mechanical jumpers.
Knows how to use a load bust tool.
Identify and locate puller and tensioner setups.
Set poles and anchors.
Inspect PPE and rubber goods.
Install transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switch gear.
Troubleshoots problems and supervises troubleshooting in primary and secondary systems.
Replace cutout fuses and clears faulted circuits and systems.
Frequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others.
Maintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
Comply with company reporting procedures and complete required company paperwork.
Coordinates and inspects the work of crew members.
Qualifications ExperiencePreferred
Must be able to climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.).
Certification in safe traffic control practices and public safety techniques per state and local regulations are required.
Competent in operating ALL equipment including track bucket/digger.
Class A level - Installing and maintaining overhead and underground power lines.
