Do you enjoy working outside and with your hands? NC State Parks has a Maintenance/Construction Technician II position available. This role is responsible for hands‑on work maintaining grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment. Work includes custodial tasks, boundary line clearing, routine maintenance, trail maintenance, trash collection, mowing and trimming, prescribed burn assistance and/or auto mechanics.
Key Responsibilities- Performing a variety of semi‑skilled tasks in a trade such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance, and/or auto mechanics.
- Operating large and small equipment and/or tools.
- Purchasing resources in accordance with state purchasing policies and procedures.
- Maintaining records and preparing operational forms.
- Assisting in housekeeping.
- May Supervise temporary and permanent staff, community service participates, and/or volunteers on special projects.

Applicants who possess the following are preferred:
Demonstrated work experience performing trades in at least
two of the following: carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics.Demonstrated experience in performing grounds maintenance/landscaping.
Demonstrated experience in performing maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds maintenance equipment.
Typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3:30pm; includes evening shifts and weekends on a rotating schedule.
Must work weekends and holidays on-call rotation.
Must be able to perform work inside and outside in various environmental conditions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
