This Rehabilitation Casework Technician position is located in the Albemarle VR/IL Unit Office in Stanly County. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and casework support to the assigned Rehabilitation Counselors delivering services to individuals receiving Independent Living Services through the Albemarle VR/IL Unit. This position will work in collaboration with the Vocational Rehabilitation and Independent Living Counselors to assist eligible individuals with significant disabilities to live independently with their families, in their homes, and communities and achieve their identified goals.
Job Responsibilities- Interview consumers and gather diagnostic reports to assist counselors with determining eligibility and required services.
- Assist with developing written plans of services in conjunction with the consumer, parent and/or guardian.
- Conduct in‑person home visits with consumers for assessment and service provision.
- Document casework data and the provision of substantial services throughout the rehabilitation process in the case management system.
- Prepare documents, file, schedule, and input casework data, including invoices, billing documents, and correspondence to support consumer services.
- Work with community employers/partners to assist consumers in living independently in their communities and/or obtaining assistance with appropriate jobs leading to successful employment outcomes.
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with people with disabilities.
- Demonstrated experience performing routine administrative and office support functions.
- Experience providing effective front‑line service to the public, including responding to inquiries, resolving concerns, and maintaining professionalism in a fast‑paced setting.
- Ability to be flexible, detail‑oriented and organized with multiple priority assignments.
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary Grade Range: $39,244.00 – $68,679.00 (Recruitment Range: $39,244.00 – $49,000.00).
