Description

The person in this position is responsible for providing direct supervision to Child Care and Work First staff, and the Community Development Specialist within the Child Welfare Division. Some of the responsibilities of the staff include determining eligibility for Child Care and Work First services through NCFast and consulting/coordinating Employment Services activities. Duties as a Social Work Supervisor involve planning, organizing, training, coaching, and monitoring the performance of the unit.

The person in this position will perform second party reviews of cases, occasionally determine eligibility in NCFast, and ensure compliance with state policy and performance measures. This person will also perform additional related job duties that support the success of the Child Welfare Division and the programs assigned to them.

Requirements

Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; OR a bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; OR a master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; OR a bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience;

OR a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other requirements include possession of a driver’s license valid in the state of N.C.
Note:
In accordance with State mandates and the Halifax County Emergency Operations Plan, Halifax County Social Services staff are required to staff emergency shelters during times of disaster. Please be advised that every staff person is eligible to be assigned to an emergency shelter, or Emergency Operations Center.

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $ 52,021 - $ 63,459. Halifax County provides a comprehensive employee benefits package, including membership in the N.C. Local Government Employees’ Retirement System.
