Bulk Driver (Open) –
Location:
Concord, NC. Ammonia production & filling. CDL A with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements required. Schedule is Sun-Thursday with possible 6th/7th day;
Day shift; home nightly. Typical start time varies.
Airgas Specialty Products is a leading distributor of anhydrous ammonia and ammonium hydroxide. ASP seeks an experienced local Bulk Tanker Driver to join our Operations team.
Responsibilities- Deliver products to local customers on scheduled routes or intermittently.
- Record deliveries and pickups on load manifests; obtain customer signatures for receipts.
- Respond to service inquiries and complaints; engage in loading/unloading truck procedures.
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections; document deficiencies; ensure safety items are in good working order.
- Maintain neat, clean, and professional appearance; maintain vehicle appearance professionally.
- Safely perform SOPs related to the handling of Anhydrous Ammonia/Ammonium Hydroxide.
- Communicate in person with customers regarding SOPs; maintain load manifests and vehicle documents; ensure accuracy with truck counts and shipping documents before/after deliveries.
- Ensure all safety rules are observed; maintain appropriate driver licenses/endorsements; read and comprehend MSDS.
- Operate hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; able to work independently and under pressure; work with diverse teams.
- Basic computer experience (MS Word, Excel, Outlook); meet physical qualification standards; able to operate in a drug-free workplace; available for overtime; some overnight stays may be required.
- Minimum age: 25 years old
- Class A CDL with at least 2 years CMV experience (experience within last 4 years); tanker and hazmat endorsements required before hire date.
- Graduation from an accredited truck driving school with diploma counts as 1 year of the required experience.
- No preventable accidents in last 3 years; no more than 2 minor tickets in last 3 years; no serious violations in last 3 years.
- No CDL suspensions in last 3 years (except for certain child support suspensions).
- No DUI in last 7 years; ability to lift 60 lbs or more; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Drive cameras in trucks; strict no-electronics policy while driving; zero tolerance for cell/electronic devices during operation.
- Vehicles equipped with modern technology (On-Board Computers, collision avoidance, cameras, GPS); most under 6 years old.
