Regional Class A Truck Driver

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Lexington, NC — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Key details on compensation and schedule:

• Weekly pay $1600-$1800 average.
• Solo miles: $0.56 per mile (2,000 miles per week).
• Solo stops: $21.00 per stop (20-25 stops per week).
• Sign‑on bonus: $1,250 after 30 days and $1,250 after 90 days.
• Truck allowance: $65 per night (3‑5 nights per week).
• Robust back‑haul program: additional miles ($50 pickup, $50 delivery).
• Paid training.
• Schedule:
  
  Sunday to Friday, start time varies.

Route:
Regional across North America;
Tractor type: sleeper;
Trailer: 53’ dry van;
Freight: touch‑window & doors;
Minimum 1‑year sleeper experience.

• Medical, dental and vision after 30 days.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements.
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, OR 2 years within the last 5 years, OR 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
