Description
SUMMARYAssigns and coordinates the activities of production workers and flow of material to ensure customers receive orders timely by contributing warehousing information to strategic plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, customer-service, safety, security, and health standards; resolving problems and identifying system improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage the movement of goods into and out of the warehouse to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of operations:
- Load and unload shipments onto or from delivery vehicles
- Locate and pull inventory to fill various customer orders
- Return remaining stock material to appropriate storage area in racking system
- Package outbound material per standard packaging methods to ensure safe transit
- Assess shipments for quality and freight damage upon receipt
- Ensure receiving documents are entered into the system with accuracy
- Ensure all shipping documents are required for inclusion with each package
- Monitor and submit, weekly time sheets including vacation/personal time and any points collected during the week to accounting.
- Perform staffing and coaching functions such as selection, training, and evaluation (including 90 day and annual reviews)
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
- Review daily production reports, determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates
- Maintains storage areas by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
- Maintains inventory by conducting monthly physical counts; reconciling variances; inputting data.
- Keeps warehouse equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs the work of hourly employees in the warehouse. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Able to easily discern numbers to work with weights and measurements, accurately utilizing calculator, tape measure, calipers and scales.
- Forklift Trainer Certified
- Self-motivated and committed to safety as demonstrated through previous work
- Able to stand for long periods of time, bending, pivoting and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, hands-on, team environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
1+ year(s) of college or trade/technical school required
2+ years of experience working in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook required
2 years of experience successfully leading, motivating and coaching a production team required
2+ years of experience in manufacturing or warehouse required
