About the role

This is a unique opportunity to make an impact on creating and managing products for Gartner’s High Technology clients as part of the Global Product Management (GPM) team. The Vice President, Product Management will be part of Gartner’s High-Tech business that delivers value to our High Tech clients (from startups to the largest tech companies), and will drive key cross‑business initiatives focused on growth and retention of our clients across the business.

This role will unlock new market opportunities and drive double‑digit growth for Gartner with our Product Leaders in the High‑Tech market. The leader will manage and innovate existing products and create new ones, requiring a passion for understanding and anticipating customer needs and a strong motivation to solve their problems.

Responsibilities
  • Own the Product Vision and Strategy: develop the business case, build technology and data‑driven products for the target segment and client‑roles, and launch and grow them working with key partners and stakeholders such as Research, Product Marketing, Sales, Sales Enablement, Sales Operations and Customer Success.
  • Understand the specific target portfolio for high‑tech Product Leader clients, determine additional or new offerings needed, and incorporate data‑driven insights to help clients make business decisions.
  • Ensure ongoing double‑digit growth and strong retention by continuously prioritizing areas for improvement, driving sales adoption, and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Drive collaboration and influence: lead brainstorming and collaborative problem‑solving sessions with partners in Research, Service Delivery, and Sales; leverage internal stakeholders and partners to accomplish business goals.
  • Develop and present regular updates to top executives, including Gartner’s most senior executives.
  • Lead the team to conceptualize, pilot, and iterate on offerings that deliver measurable client value and strong product‑market fit.
  • Track critical product and business metrics to continuously iterate and improve the value proposition.
  • Build, measure, learn, and iterate (growth mindset, can‑do mentality); create, launch, track, and iterate new products and value‑add features that drive value to our clients across technology, data, peer connections, events, expert interactions, and new research publications.
  • Identify and analyze key business metrics to uncover bright spots and obstacles to impact; then deliver needed enhancements.
  • Ruthlessly prioritize actions based on data and business impact.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive business experience, including 7+ years in product strategy or product management building products and driving revenue‑generating go‑to‑market actions.
  • Strategy consulting experience at a top 3 firm is highly valued.
  • Product management or product development leadership experience in the B2B High‑Tech space is a plus.
  • Track record of launching successful new products and managing them through periods of continued strong growth and retention.
  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams to deliver products or services and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with market research, market opportunity sizing, market segmentation, pricing, value proposition creation, communication, and training.
  • Extremely proactive leader with an ownership mindset, strong commercial acumen, bias for action, and willingness to roll up sleeves.
  • Ability to understand clients’ needs, challenges, org structures, workflows, and decision‑making processes.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data analytics capabilities; able to turn analysis into actionable recommendations with measurable business impact.
  • Strong collaboration skills across all levels of the organization, including sales, research, engineering, customer success, and customer research.
  • Comfortable working in a culture that thrives on feedback, seeks opportunities to stretch outside comfort zones, and coaches/mentors team members.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
