Rainbow Station, the licensed full-day childcare center at the New Canaan YMCA, is looking to hire additional LEAD Teachers (primarily for our Toddler Rooms) as well as ASSISTANT Teachers for all ages from infant to 4 years' old.
ResponsibilitiesWe have small classroom sizes, allowing our team to foster children's social, physical, emotional and cognitive growth. In addition to our classrooms and outdoor space (2 playgrounds), being on-site at our Y allows our childcare program to also have use of our indoor gymnasium, Bouncing Bears gymnastic space, music classes and swim instruction.
Our program is open from 7:30 am to 6pm Monday through Friday, with full-time staff typically working 35 hours per week. Full-time staff have generous PTO, paid holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement savings, and free family membership to our Y facility.
Qualifications- Knowledge of Early Childhood Development
- CPR / First Aid
- A "Safety First" mindset
- Excellent communication skills and an abundance of patience
- Punctual and reliable
- A love of singing, storytelling, imaginative play and crafts
- Responsive and flexible to the needs of the program
- Ability to work well with children in cooperation with other staff and parents of participants
Assistant Teachers wage range starts at $20.00/hr, and Lead Teachers at $24.00/hr
