VASE Construction, a construction management, general contractor and real estate development firm, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead commercial, healthcare, institutional, municipal, housing, and real estate development projects throughout lower Fairfield County and Connecticut. Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll be responsible for planning, field execution, subcontractor coordination, quality, safety, scheduling, project controls, and client satisfaction. This is a leadership position for someone who takes ownership, thinks ahead, solves problems, and delivers exceptional projects.

• Strong supervisory skills with experience leading field teams, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining clear communication on-site.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial construction, including familiarity with building systems, project sequencing, and reading construction documents.
• Plan work 2 weeks ahead, anticipate challenges, and implement recovery plans.
• Proficiency in quality control practices to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and company standards.
• Solid understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices, with a track record of maintaining safe job sites.
• Lead weekly trade meetings focused on upcoming work, unresolved issues, and accountability. Distribute meeting minutes with action items and responsibilities.
• Ability to use construction management software and basic productivity tools (e.g., Procore, scheduling, reporting, and documentation applications).
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and make timely decisions in the field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with clients, design teams, inspectors, and trade partners.
• Inspect work before subsequent trades begin and promptly resolve deficiencies. Coordinate punch lists, closeout documentation, owner training, and project turnover.

• Verify completed work quantities and support accurate monthly requisitions.
• Review change orders (PCOs) for accuracy and fairness before presenting to Project Accountant and Project Manager.
• Protect the Owner's interests by identifying risks early and bringing practical solutions.

• 7+ years of experience as a superintendent or in a similar construction leadership role; relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30) are beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, building systems, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar software.

• Thinks ahead and asks questions before work begins.
• Leads subcontractors with professionalism and accountability.
• Takes ownership of every project from kickoff through closeout.
• Communicates proactively and follows through.
