Auditorium Manager

Job Scope

The job of auditorium manager was established to oversee the technical needs of the music and theater departments at the high school and middle schools. This position is also responsible for the audio/video services for outside rental groups using a school auditorium.

• Mixing and running soundboard
• Provide adequate lighting and sound design support for all events
• Train, supervise and schedule student audio/visual technicians for D.H.S.
• Set up and supervise events that take place in D.H.S./ Middle school auditoriums
• Preventative maintenance on all theatrical lighting and sound equipment
• Work with students and faculty on large spring musical and other in-house events
• Act as a liaison between D.H.S. / Middle schools and clients renting the auditorium(s)

• Applicant must be eager to learn and work with the community, both of the Greater Danbury area and of the Danbury School System.
• Willingness to work with outside auditorium rental groups
• Organized and able to multi-task
• Ability to work nights and weekends
• Technical Theatre background
• Basic understanding of rigging systems
• Technical design and construction experience
• Basic Theatre electrician experience
• Sound technician experience

• College degree in Entertainment Technology industry or a minimum 3 years work experience in the field

Light to moderate lifting ranging from 10–30 pounds. When necessary, ability to handle being on a ladder for heights up to 20'.
