HKHS Drama Club Advisor

Job Goal:
To present a theatrical work for the CDA competition in March
To allow seniors the opportunity to create directing projects using underclassmen in acting and tech roles
Hopefully, to add a comedy or drama presentation in which many students will have the opportunity to participate

Work Period:
School year

• Adhere to all BOE policies and other co-curricular policies and regulations
• Gain approval and use all required paperwork for events, fund raisers, field trips, and other events/activities
• Ensure that all plays are entirely politically correct and completely without any suggestion or innuendo of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex, or profanity.
• Submit proposed script and budget for approval
• Adhere to auditorium rules
• Choose, direct and mount a production for CDA competition
• Conduct rehearsals for this production
• Attend and supervise set building Saturdays for CDA production
• Present this production to the HK audience
• Take this play to the 2 day CDA festival competition in the Spring
• Organize the field trip to CDA including overnight accommodations for students and chaperones
• Attend required tech Saturday for CDA competition
• Take students to the monologue competition, an all day Saturday event
• Conduct weekly drama meetings for all interested participants
• Select senior students to complete senior directing projects and oversee the rehearsals
• Arrange for the students to present their finished projects to the HK audience
• Choose and direct a drama or comedy in which a large number of students could participate
