- Videographer/Editor functions as an internal creative services partner to Whelen Engineering, with a primary focus on video production, editing, and digital content creation. Responsibilities include planning, filming, editing, maintaining, and distributing video content for product, service, training, event, and brand-related needs, while also supporting photography responsibilities as needed. This role supports in-studio and field production, web and digital services, social media, and the archival organization of video and photo assets.

The videographer/editor will collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and other departments to create compelling content that highlights Whelen's products, services, and brand while maintaining Whelen's Brand and Corporate Standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, film, and edit high-quality video content for products, services, events, training, and other company initiatives
  • Operate and maintain digital cameras, video, lighting, and audio equipment for both in-studio and field production
  • Use Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable video editing software to produce polished, brand-aligned video content
  • Apply lighting, composition, audio, and production techniques to capture professional video in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings
  • Maintain organized video archives and ensure digital content is accessible, properly labeled, and available for future use
  • Collaborate with internal departments to create videos that highlight Whelen products, services, capabilities, and customer applications
  • Support photography needs for product, application, event, and marketing content as required
  • Work with engineering department to obtain samples and prototypes for product launches and related media needs
Qualifications and

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in video production, digital media, communications, photography, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in videography, video editing, digital media production, or a related creative role
  • Experience using digital cameras for video production; specific knowledge of professional camera systems is required
  • Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable video editing software proficiency
  • Adobe After Effects experience
  • Practical knowledge of lighting set ups, audio recording, and studio and field production best practices
  • Drone piloting experience and FAA Part 107 certification are a major plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Must be a motivated, organized, self-starter who enjoys working with all types of people as part of a highly collaborative, high functioning marketing team
  • Ability to provide video editing samples or a creative portfolio is required
