Position Summary

Race Crew members are responsible for supporting race operations by managing start procedures and/or operate timing systems. Whether you are sending racers out of the gate or capturing their official times down to the fraction of a second, you are essential to the thrill, fairness, and precision of every run. This role requires focus, consistency, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the start gate and signal racers to begin their run
  • Ensure racers are prepared and positioned correctly before starting
  • Maintain alertness and consistency throughout race sessions
  • Communicate clearly with racers and race officials
  • Monitor start area and follow established procedures
  • Operate timing equipment to accurately record race results
  • Monitor timing systems for accuracy and troubleshoot basic issues
  • Remain attentive, detail-oriented and focused while working in a fast‑paced and changing environment
  • Communicate timing information clearly to race officials
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of race times
  • Complete required trainings as assigned by mountain leadership
  • Other duties as assigned by mountain leadership
Qualifications, Requirements, and Compensation
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exercise sound judgment and remain calm while responding to changing conditions and operational demands
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high-volume environment
  • Availability to work during program times including evenings Monday – Thursday and various times on weekends
  • USSA and/or PSIA certification preferred
  • Prior experience with ski racing events or timing systems preferred
  • Successful completion of background check
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and ski/snowboard for extended periods of time (up to 8+ hours)
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme varying winter conditions
  • Ability to walk, stand, and navigate snow-covered, icy, uneven, and changing terrain, surface and subsurface conditions
  • Ability to bend, shovel snow, and assist guests physically when needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: $17.50/hour
  • Benefits:
    Complimentary ski/ride access for the duration of employment and employee discounts on food and beverages at participating locations (subject to mountain policy)
