Introduction

The State of Connecticut , Department of Correction (DOC) is recruiting for a Dental Assistant (40 Hour) at the Corrigan Correctional Center in Montville CT with coverage to Brooklyn Correctional Institution in Brooklyn CT.

Incumbents in this position will have an opportunity in dental assisting procedures including, but not limited to restorative, prosthodontic, periodontic, endodontic and oral surgery.

As a Dental Assistant with us, you will have the opportunity to:

• Assist with procedures involving restorative, prosthodontic, periodontic, endodontic and oral surgery;
• Prepare dental restorative and prosthetic materials;
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations on infection control;
• Record medical histories.

The position is first shift, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday
- Friday, 40 hours a week.

The Corrigan Correctional Institution and the Radgowski Correctional Institution were consolidated in May 2001 as the Corrigan‑Radgowski Correctional Center. This facility confines both pretrial and sentenced offenders. It serves superior courts in Danielson, New London, Norwich and Windham.

The Brooklyn Correctional Institution is a level 3 medium‑security facility. It offers extensive programming to assist offenders with the successful law‑abiding return to the community. The programming includes:
Educational Services with GED, English as a Second Language, and Special Education;
Vocational Programs, Business Education, Computer Skills;
Literacy Volunteers;
Sex Offender Programming;
Anger Management and Substance Abuse Programming.
