Location: New Canaan
Robert Dean Architects is an award-winning residential architecture and interior design firm with over 40 years of trusted client and contractor relationships. We focus on high-end homes with a strong emphasis on thoughtful design and precise execution.
We’re seeking an experienced architect with strong Archicad proficiency to lead a residential project from Design Development through Construction Administration. This is a part-time contract role (~20 hrs/week) for a single project, with potential for ongoing collaboration for the right fit.
Candidates must be located in or near Fairfield County, CT and able to attend weekly in-person meetings. Applications from outside this area will not be considered.
What You’ll Do- Lead an existing project from Design Development through Construction Administration
- Collaborate with the Principal and Interior Designer
- Produce clear, coordinated construction documents
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients
- Oversee drafting support and maintain quality control
- Develop and manage BIM models in Archicad
- 10+ years residential experience (wood frame required)
- Strong construction documentation and detailing skills
- Archicad proficiency (required)
- Ability to work independently and execute design intent
- Experience with high-end clients, contractors, and small teams
- Working knowledge of CT codes, IRC, FEMA, and local regulations
- Architecture degree; license a plus
- U.S. work authorization
- Remote with core-hour collaboration
- Weekly travel to Fairfield County, CT (Westport area)
- Self-directed, organized, reliable
- 1099 contract
- Compensation $75-$100/hour, dependent on experience
