Hartford Health Care is seeking a full-time Academic Primary Care Physician to join the core faculty team for the Quinnipiac University Rural Family Medicine Residency in Winsted, CT. This role combines clinical care for patients of all ages with faculty responsibilities to shape the education of future rural family medicine physicians. Set in scenic Litchfield County, the position offers a balanced outpatient practice environment paired with professional academic growth.
Practice Info
- Newly established Quinnipiac University Rural Family Medicine Residency in Winsted, CT
- 100% office-based, outpatient primary care from birth and up with no OB
- Practice supported by behavioral health, high-risk nurse care managers, and social workers
- Dedicated nursing and personal medical assistant (MA) staffing
- Utilizes EPIC EHR with Dragon, Ambient AI integration, HIPAA-compliant texting, patient self-scheduling, and patient portal
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to patients across all age groups from newborns to adults
- Shape the education of future rural family medicine physicians as part of the core faculty team
- Participate in a mix of precepting residents, direct patient care, and administrative duties
Compensation
- Guaranteed base

Shift & Schedule
- Full-time
- Weekdays only
- Combination of clinical and faculty responsibilities, with a mix of precepting, patient care, and administrative time
- Phone call only, averaging only 2 call weekends per year and 1 weeknight approximately every 2 months
Requirements
- Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license or eligibility
- BC/BE Family Medicine
- H1B cap-exempt organization
