West Hartford Public Schools seeks a candidate with a proactive and positive attitude to fill a position for a full-time Extraordinary Needs Paraprofessional at Norfeldt Elementary School for the  school year. Candidates must be patient, respectful, and flexible with effective interpersonal skills. This is a 10‑month position with full benefits working in the special needs program to support students with behavioral, social and emotional concerns.

Lifting and other physical duties are associated with this position. Prior experience is preferred. PMT training is preferred.

• Support students with behavioral, social, and emotional concerns in the special needs program.
• Assist teachers and staff in implementing instructional and behavioral strategies.
• Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and attentiveness to job responsibilities at all times.
• Perform lifting and other physical duties as required by the position.

• Patient, respectful, and flexible with strong interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• PMT training is preferred.
• Current resume and 3 letters of recommendation dated within the last 365 days must be included in the application.

Salary: per the paraprofessional contract.
